In 2007, with the opening of the stunning Port campus, the University expanded to the Halifax waterfront. A dramatic symbol of NSCAD’s significant presence in the community, the 70,000 square foot campus features 18 foot ceilings, generous natural light, and houses many of the university’s more materials-rich programs including sculpture studios, a wood shop, metal shop, foundry, product design, and ceramics studios, With uninterrupted views of the harbour from its second floor studios through 172 feet of glass curtain wall, the facility also serves as the primary academic centre for students entering NSCAD’s Foundation program.
